Biology Prize 2011 - Entries Closed

Entries have now closed for this year's St. Columba's College Biology Prize. The standard of entries is very high this year with a diverse range of topics within biology. Some of the essays presented include the biochemistry of venom, genetics and homosexuality, multiple sclerosis, the Giant Panda, the Three Gorges Dam its biological and environmental dangers, bio-dynamics and lunar plant growth, carniverous plants, the science of allergies, the Komodo Dragon, spines, sneezing, magnetic nanoparticles, the ten deadliest animals on earth and anorexia and a balanced diet. We will now begin judging the entries and select five or six turn their essays into a ten minute presentation to their peers, their teachers and a guest judge at the end of March. We will post some of the entry essays over the coming days and weeks.
