Leaving Certificate Results 2009

The Frog Blog would like to congratulate the St. Columba's College class of 2009 on achieving such outstanding Leaving Certificate results. An average points score of 445 per candidate is our school's highest ever and, once again, will see us among the highest achieving schools in Ireland. Two candidates achieved maximum points (i.e. 600). One candidate achieved 7 x A1 and an A2. One in three pupils achieved over 500 points which is an astounding statistic.

In Science the statistics are very impressive indeed. In Biology, 32% of candidates achieved an A grade in Higher Level (HL) (16% nationally), with 95% of candidates receiving an A, B or C grade in HL. In Chemistry all pupils sat HL. In total, 23% of candidates achieved an A grade (21% nationally) with 100% achieving an A, B or C. In Physics, an astonishing 43% of candidates achieved an A grade in HL (20% nationally) while 50% of all Agricultural Science pupils received an A1 grade (5.7% nationally).

Well done to all (former) pupils on these astounding results. Best of luck in all your future endeavours.
